Muthanna Al Kurtass is a mariner, who completed his training in Germany and Japan, he ‎worked all his life on Ships, Ship Repair Yards, Marine Schools, Shipping Companies and in ‎Ports.‎

‎ He joined the Saudi Sea Ports in 1978 and was retired (26) years later, he held the posts of ‎‎"Director of Operation and Development" at the Saudi Ports Authority head quarters, "Port ‎Director General of King Fahd Industrial Port in Yanbu" and "Port Director General of King ‎Fahd Industrial Port in Jubail " where he was also entrusted with establishing the pollution ‎control center.‎

He represented his employers at the board of directors of the Arab Maritime Academy in ‎Alexandria, the International Maritime Organization, the International Association of Ports ‎and Harbors, the International Association of Light House Authorities, the Gulf Cooperation ‎Consul Port's Forum and at other local and regional forums.‎

In 2003 he established the Consultancy "Al Nitak for Maritime Studies" which is based in ‎Jubail Industrial City, and he is a member of the National Transportation Committee in ‎Saudi Arabia.‎

Mr. Al Kurtass authored recently two books not related to ports but rather to the ‎intercultural dialog which he advocates. ‎Both books can be found on Amazon.com.‎
